Boots in Summer

Okay. This hair is driving me nuts. I just can't get the other side to flip like it used to. So each day I have one side bigger and flipp-ier than the other.  It used to work just fine.  I don't know about you but I am all bent out of shape when my hair doesn't work out the way I like. I just don't feel like myself when it's like this!!!

Yeah, and I left for work with boots on and an umbrella in my bag. Now its warm, muggy and sunny. I'm starting to understand. If I take an umbrella the sun shines. If I take sunglasses it rains.  NOW I KNOW-- take an umbrella but hide sunglasses in my bag- thats the way to trick the weatherman.

I got this Banana Republic top for like $2.00 in some little grandma-type thrift store last year and don't wear it much but here you go.  Not much else to say other than I haven't had the 'brown belt' out lately. Lucky for you Hey?

Have a good one awesome readers!!! xox  Jodi

Blue Day- Where is SUMMER??

Happy Monday. Can I start with a Rant? Where the h*ll is summer? I mean, it is the last week of June and its overcast and ready to rain (blue day). I am only a little frustrated I tell ya!!  So, I also am having some discussions with my hair. Since I got it cut one side seems to not want to flip. I have talked nice to it, talked NOT nice to, used a flatiron on it, tryed to curl it, tryed to do nothing to it. URGH. Its just not the same as it was.  And that leads me to my next point. How much of our lives do we spend trying to get things to be  or stay the way they WERE?  I was just in an amazing course this weekend and it was all about that- how much we naturally, as humans, resist change. Even if we know change is good.

Okay. I am better now. On to my day! Ahoy! Hope you all have a super awesome double excellent day out there!! xoxo Jodi

Fashion Beauty Friend Friday: Seeing Things Differently

And Hello. Another Friday already. Today we are sharing about those things that are different since fashion blogging.  If you want to join our Fashion Beauty Friend Friday go over and see Katy at ModlyChic. She is awesome!!

Seeing things Differently
1.  Since you began blogging do you notice a change in the types of things you gravitate towards while shopping?
I only go to the colors that I know suit me.  While I might like a certain fashion, if I know it doesn't fit my body type I don't try to make it work anyway.  As you can probably tell, I am a wide belt kinda gal.  Fitted, curve-defining. Thats my style.

2.  Do you find, as a fashion blogger, that you dress differently from your family and friends? Do they comment on that?
FUNNY. Oh yeah!  My friends comment all the time about how I dress and often ask if I will take them shopping. Even a few ladies in the building I work in have asked if I would take them out to help them find stuff that suits them.  Most of my family live in smaller communities and wear clothes that are outdoorsy- they are stylish but in a country-kinda way :)  I do have a cousin who is a model and SHE has really funky fashion sense.

3. What’s the weirdest fashion that you secretly like, even if you aren’t bold enough to wear it?
I like the boho looks, feathers, cowboy boots, flowing skirts, florals.

4.Looking at current trends – what would you like to try but need to build up the courage to do?Hmmm good question.. I like shorts and boots, or shorts and heels. I havent had the courage to do the shorts and tights kind of look.

5.Toot someone’s horn – what fashion blogger out there inspires you with her bold fashion choices?
Of course, its my fav fashion diva and creative talent: Emma of Daily Clothes Fix.  I could never pull off some of the wild and colorful outfits she wears and I am totally inspired by her ideas and her funky style!!

In Transit

Well Helllooooo. I am in transit so all you get is a photobooth photo today.  I am wearing my blue sweater and black and white skirt and my favorite and very worn out black patent pointy toed sling backs.

Meetings for the next 3 days, I just got off my flight, checked into the hotel and am in a coffee shop waiting to go to the office for my meetings.  I then have a leadership course for the weekend. We will be doing alot of collaging during this course so I am super excited about that.  We do make vision boards but we make alot of other kind of collages too so I have been collecting tons of magazines (national geographics, fashion mags, Life, Wired, Travel mags, etc).  I will share some of my stuff as I create it.

Hope you all have a super day. I have my camera so do intend to get some photos during my time outside of the busy-ness!!!  Happy Thursday my Lovelies!!

And YES I do know that photobooth is not the most flattering!! but hey, some Jodi Unplugged is good right? The Rough Cut!!  heh heh

Before and After

Yes, Jodi has gone AWOL for awhile.. I have botched the 30 for 30 challenge.  Let me tell you. I am NO quitter. However, I think I never really started the 30x30 with passion this time around. I wasn't prepared and having been mixing, therefore, I am out of the challenge for this time around (do you still love me?) LOL. I am just not excited about doing it this time- perhaps the next one that rolls around.

I went into work this morning and was all on track (am writing a guidebook for a project) and the phone kept ringing and people knocking on my office door. I was coming home for lunch anyway so what the heck-- I am working from home for the rest of the day. SO you see my before and after... Here I am now at home, music playing, patio door open, sun shining in and I am focused on finishing my guidebook (well, after I finish this post of course.. :).  Just me and Deze.

I was pricing out my outfit as I was walking home and I think my total outfit (skirt/top/shoes/belt) cost under $40.00 (and the top was new). Not bad.
Adios for now... work is caaaallllllinnnng. xoxo J

Office Attire

There I was. Lying on my back wearing a rubber suit looking up at the sky. Let me explain.  This morning, 6am. I swam 2 laps around the lake in my wetsuit. The times I floated on my back were pretty awesome.. looking up at the early morning sky. It was just me and the geese. Not another soul around.  And then of course I started thinking thoughts like " what if there is a lake monster down below",  "what if something jumps up and grabs my leg".. and then I picked it up and started swimming faster.... YEOOOWW get me out of here!!  LOL.  I love it when it warms up enough to do open water swimming and this morning was my first day!! What a great start to the day (minus the lake monsters, of course).

Please disregard the goggle marks under my eyes. This is what happens when I snap photos right after swimming!

And MR. $%%*^&& Blogger hasn't been kind to me the last few days, hence no posts. But I am back and I think he is going to cooperate. At least he had BETTER. OR. ELSE.  A divorce might be in the near future.

Have a good one fav blogger friends!! The peonies are blooming in my garden, can't get much better than that!!   xoxo Jodi

Ruffle Dress

Well Hallaluya!  Mr. Blogger has decide to cooperate today!  This outfit is from Monday, however, I wasnt able to post at all.  Mr. Blogger was being bad (when its good its Mrs. Blogger just for the record).

This dress is so comfy. It's also silk. I am in love.  It moves nicely when I walk and I love the ruffles.  Got lots of compliments on it yesterday too (of course that always makes a girls day).  No swimming for me this morning, off to work early instead and I am already planning what I will do on my Friday this week.. oh the glory of having Friday's off!!

Have a Fab and Fashionable day lovelies!! xoxo Jodi

Friday Ride Run

And we're off.  Off, meaning, FRIDAY OFF! YES!  I did a 3 hour ride followed by 30 min run and just got back. Now I have the whole rest of the day to myself. You wouldn't believe how good this FRIDAY DAY off agreement feels!! So my outfit is a ride run combo.  The idea is you jump off your bike and run immediately to train your legs to do this when you are racing.  I basically came home, racked my bike, changed out of my bike shorts bike shoes and off I went running.   In a real triathlon you wear one outfit for the whole race. You swim in it (with the wetsuit overtop), run out of the water, peel off the wetsuit, throw on your helmet, glasses, bike shoes and go.  Then when you come in, rack your bike, helmet off, change from bike shoes to run shoes and throw on a hat or visor.  The key is quick transitions between sports. My quickest times have been around 1.5 minutes for transition.  My upcoming 1/2 ironman race is in 2 weeks... ohhhh boy!!

Have a super awesome sunny happy day everyone!! and Happy Weekend!! xox Jodi

Going for the KISS

My one and only photo today.  I think it says it all.  This is fiance. He is an amazing guy. Me wuvs him.
I don't know how he handles me to be completely honest. In the back of my mind I always think that someday-one day, he will realize that he made a big mistake and run with arms flailing, never to come back! LOL.  Our 10 year anniversary (being together) is in September. We are planning a 6 week trip to Thailand for the winter to celebrate. I can't wait to take outfit photos there!! It's all about the outfit photos of course!!

OH< and where's the darn SUN???? Isn't it supposed to be summer???

xoxo Jodi

Brown Leopard

Not the most flattering photos today. I was in  hurry and am not too happy with the results, but you get the outfit idea anyway.  Swam this morning, hard drills. My arms are tired today. And my legs after last nights killer Time Trial Hill Ride. We had to ride up a huge hill as fast as we could. UGH!

I love these shoes, they are comfortable and almost completely worn out. I googled ebay for others  but haven't been able to find them. Guess its time for something new. Of course. Something new is always nice (even if it's thrifted!!)

I have to go to a meeting now so will catch y'all later!! Love and HUGS!! xoxo J
